At Catchpenny we are completely off grid producing all our own power on site using wind and solar and storing it in batteries beneath the tents. We offer 12V USB charging ports for phones and tablets but regret to say that we do not offer mains three pin sockets. There is a gas boiler ensuring your hot water will be plentiful. Depending on your service provider there is 4G mobile reception for internet.
The open-plan living / dining room has a log burning stove, sofa and coffee table as well a handmade wooden dining table and benches to comfortably seat 6 people and of course the large front deck with sofa and chairs to soak up the views.
Super comfy mattresses and excellent quality linen and towels all add to the experience. The bathroom has a hot shower to soothe tired explorer’s bodies, toilet and basin and even a hot towel rail. All bed linen, towels, hand towels, bath mats and bath products are provided.
Hand crafted kitchen surfaces from our own fallen trees really make the kitchen unique. You’ll find all the tools you need to whip up your favourite meals. The gas hob makes it easy to cook up a bowl of pasta for hungry children whilst the stove offers not only heat and cosiness but an alternative way to make your favourite roast.
You’ll find some books, toys and games for little ones to enjoy, binoculars for spotting dolphins and sea birds and a bird book for the keen birdwatchers to analyse the day’s sightings. Or simply hang out on the deck with a glass of wine, get the Kadai fire pit going and settle in for the evening.
“Idyllic setting for any family interested in fresh sea air, rockpooling on the doorstep, friendly coastal walks and true glamping comfort. You would struggle to find a more beautiful setting. As a real treat, ask your host Alex to arrange for some lobster catching off the beach right in front of your tents, ready for an evening BBQ at sun down. Gastronomic bliss”
